i. the time someone rollerbladed past singing my favorite song

ii. the time i found a leaf with a heart-shaped hole

iii. the time i found a copy of my favorite book (Cat’s Eye) at a free little library

iv. the time i had a row of empty seats on a fully booked flight

v. the time i was biking and was thirsty and so unbelievably tired, and i turned a corner and a nine-year-old with an invisible halo was selling lemonade

vi. the time i was drawing in the woods and witnessed a barred owl land steps away from me to take a nap

vii. the time i found a leaf on the sidewalk standing straight up (i am still confused about this)

viii. the time i had a run-in with an opossum
